ECoR OBSERVED INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN ASSOCIATION WITH ECoRWWO
• 18 Women Railway Employees from different fields were felicitated for their outstanding performance.
• 10 Women Railway Employees awarded for their achievements in various competitions.
The International Women’s Day 2025 was celebrated today by East Coast Railway (ECoR) in association with the East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO) at the Railway Auditorium, Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the Women Railway Employees, ECoRWWO President Smt. Kavita Funkwal emphasized that every woman should recognize her inner strength, overcome challenges and strive to achieve her goals while showcasing her inherent talents.
Smt. Funkwal also felicitated outstanding Railway Women employees for their exceptional contributions. Gracing the occasion, Dr. P. Varalaxmi, Divisional Medical Officer of Divisional Railway Hospital at Khurda Road, spoke about common gynecological health issues in women. Additionally, Smt. Ala Aruna Sri, Station Superintendent at Visakhapatnam, highlighted the significant contributions of women in various aspects of Railway operations, acknowledging them as warriors in transforming Indian Railways.
A total of 28 Women Railway Employees were felicitated during the event, including:
• 18 Women Railway Employees from different fields were felicitated for their exceptional performances in different fields.
• 10 Women Railway Employees awarded for excelling in various competitions like Poem Recitation, Rangoli and Pooja Thali Decoration, etc.
Women’s Day Celebrations were also observed at the Divisional Headquarters of Khurda Road, Waltair, Rayagada and Sambalpur, as well as at various important stations within the ECoR jurisdiction.
Coordinating the event, ECoR Chief Personnel Officer (General) Shri Surya Prakash congratulated women employees for their sincere contributions to the Railways. The event concluded with a cultural program presented by the women Railway Employees to commemorate the occasion.
