Today ie on 25.3.2025, a short while ago,Sri Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra, Revenue Inspector (RI), Kendrapati under Astaranga Tehsil, Dist-Puri and Sri Sampad Kumar Das( Pvt. Person) have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 7,000/- from a Complainant for giving Homestead Enquiry Report in respect of the landed property in the name of his father, a must for sale of land which is executed by the DSR concerned. For about a month, complt had been requesting Sri Mohapatra, RI to furnish the said report. Still, Sri Mohapatra, RI and his associate Sri Das (Private Person) were demanding bribe Rs 7,000/- to get his work done. Finding no other means, complt. approached the Vigilance authorities, alleging his harassment by the duo Sri Mohapatra and Sri Das( Private Person). Following which, Vigilance Sleuths nabbed today the accused Sri Mohapatra, RI and his associate Sri Das( Private Person), while taking bribe Rs 7,000/- from the complainant. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from their possession and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Sri Mohapatra, RI from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 03/2025, U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against accused RI Kendrapati, Sri Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra and Private Person, Sri Sampad Kumar Das. Detailed report follows.
