Ward 19 Residents Decry BMC’s Failed Water Service Camp
Residents of Ward No. 19 have expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) inoperative water service camp, located just 50 meters from a senior corporate executive’s home.
Despite initial assurances, the camp remains non-functional, lacking essential infrastructure, and offering no relief to the water-starved locality. The project has reportedly caused financial losses running into lakhs, raising serious concerns about BMC’s governance and accountability.
Local corporator Prarthini Baijayanti Jena and youth activist Nalini Kanta Mohanti have condemned the civic body’s mismanagement and indifference. Jena criticized the waste of public funds, citing it as a glaring example of negligence.
Residents claim similar failures in other BMC water projects, with officials deflecting responsibility. As frustration grows, citizens are demanding urgent intervention, warning of intensified protests if the issues remain unaddressed.
