Nation News.Chandigarh. A three-member committee has been formed by the Media Well Being Association for the three major awards to be given in the year 2025. The chairman of this committee is Deepak Miglani (Panipat) and the other two members are Vinod Khunagar (Kurukshetra) and Tarun Kapoor (Ambala). North India President of the organization Chandra Shekhar Dharni said that three major awards are given every year by MWB – Amar Shaheed Lala Jagat Narayan Award, Journalism Ratna Award, Journalism Alankar Award.
Like Rajasthan government, Haryana should also give health benefits of Rs 10 lakh to non-recognized journalists and their families: Dharan
Dharani said that the Haryana government should also make a new health scheme for non-accredited journalists and their families. Under which they can now get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh every year. It is worth noting that the Rajasthan State Government has announced a new health scheme for accredited journalists and their families, under which they can now get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh every year. The Information and Public Relations Department has issued a notification of “Rajasthan Patrakar Swasthya Yojana” (RJHS) in this regard. This scheme was formally launched by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on 28 March 2024 during the state level development and good governance festival in Bhilwara. All journalists accredited by the state government will get the benefit of this scheme. They and their dependents will be given cashless medical facility on the lines of RGHS. Under this, a maximum limit of up to Rs 10 lakh per year has been fixed for indoor treatment (IPD), while outdoor treatment (OPD) facility will be available as per the medical diary. Eligible journalists will also be given special ID cards to avail the facilities related to the scheme. MWB has said that this important demand of the media should be implemented in Haryana soon.
Giving information about Media Well Being Association (Registered), Chandrashekhar Dharni said that the organization provides two types of insurance to journalists, one of which is term insurance up to 10 lakhs and the other is accidental insurance. The organization does not take any money from the journalists for both these insurances and this facility is being provided to the journalists free of cost by the organization. Media Well Being Association is such an organization of journalists which is completely non-political organization, on whose platform the biggest leaders have come.

Apart from this, the organization has played an important role in the happiness and sorrow of various journalists, in which three journalists were helped when they were diagnosed with cancer, apart from this there are about 28 journalists who have been given financial help from time to time by the organization.

In Haryana, the organization has been providing free accidental and term insurance to its member journalists for many years and is also getting them renewed every year free of cost. The organization was formed with the aim of welfare of journalists and we are continuously progressing on this work. In the coming time, we are discussing many topics with the core committee regarding the welfare of journalists. The organization is going to take many big decisions soon for the welfare of journalists by making public the decision taken by the core committee.
*MWB has got important demands accepted from the government*
Recently, MWB has fulfilled its demand to the government to stop pension if an FIR is lodged against any journalist and to abolish the provision of giving pension to only one person if more than one member of the family is in media.

Apart from this, the association has some demands, in which the pension amount of journalists should be increased to 30 thousand rupees per month. The association should be given a plot of one kanal to build a building. Anyone who has been an active journalist in Haryana for more than 20 years, even if he is not recognized, should also be given the benefit of pension provision. The government should focus on simplifying the digital policy of media and giving them recognition. The pension age should be reduced from 60 years to 58 years. Apart from this, journalists should also be provided the facility of cashless treatment like government employees. CM Haryana Naib Singh Saini has also announced this. Its notification is yet to be done. He expressed hope that the Haryana government, which is working in the interest of every section, will soon work to fulfill these demands in the interest of journalists.
Training camps will be organized for young journalists
Chandra Shekhar Dharni said that in every program of the association, 3 active journalists above 60 years of age are honored. Apart from this, the association is also considering starting training camps for young journalists soon. Apart from this, three awards have also been started by the association for journalists. These include Amar Shaheed Lala Jagat Narayan Award, Patrakarita Ratna Award and Patrakarita Alankar Award for excellent and best services.
