A delegation of MWB headed by Media Well Being Association (Registered) North India President Chandra Shekhar Dharni met CM Haryana Naib Singh Saini at Sant Kabir Kutir. MWB submitted a memorandum to the CM and demanded that the cashless policy of media which has been announced by the CM Sahib should be implemented immediately. CM Sahib asked the officials to implement it soon.
It was said in the memorandum that on the lines of Rajasthan government, Haryana government should also make a new health scheme for accredited journalists and their families under which they can get cashless treatment upto Rs. 10 lakhs every year. Prominent journalists from Narain Garh, Babain and the surrounding areas were included in this delegation.
It is worth noting that the Rajasthan State Government has announced a new health scheme for accredited journalists and their families, under which they will now be able to get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh every year. The Information and Public Relations Department has issued a notification of “Rajasthan Journalist Health Scheme” (RJHS) in this regard. This scheme was formally launched by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on 28 March 2024 during the State Level Development and Good Governance Festival in Bhilwara.
MWB’s North India President Chandra Shekhar Dharni told CM Naib Singh Saini that his organization is the only such organization which provides accidental and term insurance of ten lakh rupees to journalists without taking a single penny from them. The organization has formed organizations at the provincial level not only in Haryana but also in most of the states of North India. State units have been formed in Punjab, Himachal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu Kashmir and Uttarakhand. From time to time the organization also provides financial help to journalists or their family members when they suffer from serious diseases.
Dharani informed that MWB was formed after seeing the problems faced by journalists during the Corona period. The organization demands that the pension of journalists should be increased to Rs 30,000 per month. The association should be given a plot of one kanal to build a building. Anyone who has been an active journalist in Haryana for more than 20 years, even if he is not recognized, should also be given the benefit of pension provision. The government should focus on providing recognition to them by simplifying the digital policy of the media. The pension age should be reduced from 60 years to 58 years.
