Due to AAP Govt’s negligence, people of Ghanaur constituency forced to live a hellish life – Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer
AAP Govt is playing with the lives of our people – Jhinjer
Immediate cleanliness drive, road repair, drainage system and clean drinking water facilities must be provided – YAD President
Patiala, August 23, 2025
President of Youth Akali Dal and Core Committee Member of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, visited Ghanaur city today. During his visit, he closely witnessed the extreme misery of the people and listened to their pain face-to-face. He said what he saw in the eyes of the people was not tears, but anger—an anger born out of three and a half years of betrayal, lies, and neglect by the Aam Aadmi Party Government.
Jhinjer said the people of Ghanaur are today living a hellish life. The streets are broken, water is stagnant everywhere, leading to the spread of mosquitoes and diseases. Children in people’s homes are suffering from fever and other serious illnesses, yet the AAP Government remains unmoved.
He stated, “The Punjab Government and the sitting MLA have completely abandoned the people of Ghanaur. No one listens to their grievances. People are being forced to drink dirty, foul-smelling water, which is a direct assault on their health.”
Jhinjer further added that the Punjab Government only appears on Facebook and in advertisements, while on the ground it has built nothing but a palace of lies. He pointed out that due to filth and contaminated water, many precious lives have already been lost in the constituency—this is the clear result of the government and the MLA’s failure. “Who will take responsibility for these conditions and the loss of lives?” he asked.
He stressed that in the past three and a half years, not a single MLA or government representative has come forward to care for these people, exposing the government’s complete ignorance of ground realities.
Jhinjer remarked that Punjab, once known across the world for its rich heritage and vibrant culture, has now turned into a ‘filthy Punjab’ due to the government’s failures.
He demanded immediate action for a cleanliness drive in the constituency, repair of broken roads, proper drainage of water, and supply of clean drinking water.
On this occasion, District President of Youth Akali Dal (Patiala) Amritpal Singh Lang, Gurjinder Singh Kabulpur, Parminder Singh Sarwara, Gurjant Singh Mahiduda, Balkar Singh Seal, and Sukhwinder Singh Chappar were present.
Finally, Jhinjer warned that if the Punjab Government and the local MLA continue to ignore the people’s voice, the Youth Akali Dal will be forced to launch a massive protest in the area.
