The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi

The Delhi government is looking to add more PUC checking centers due to a strike at petrol pumps

– Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, predicting moderate to light rainfall. The city has already seen heavy rain, which has caused waterlogging and traffic jams in several areas.

– Electrocution: A 26-year-old civil services aspirant was electrocuted after touching an iron gate that had electricity running through it following heavy rains in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar area.

– Crime: A 20-year-old man and his three associates were arrested for allegedly robbing his employer of Rs 14.5 lakh to pay for his sister’s wedding and repay his father’s loan. In another incident, a 50-year-old man was arrested for raping a three-year-old girl.

– Traffic: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisories due to waterlogging in several areas, including Chatta Rail Chowk, Nigam Bodh Ghat, Anand Parvat and Zakhira underpass.

– Court Cases: The Delhi High Court has directed the authorities to give a nod for moving Bhalswa dairies to Ghoga. In another case, the court has sought the police’s response on Umar Khalid’s bail plea and will hear the matter next on August 29.

– Other News: The Delhi government is looking to add more PUC checking centers due to a strike at petrol pumps. The Transport department has requested DMRC and IGL to open new centers.
