State Congress Committee President Udaybhan has said that the way five-time MLA Ashok Arora was attacked by BJP outsiders in the meeting of Thanesar Municipal Council, it cannot be condemned enough. Such incidents can never be tolerated in a democracy. In this matter, he will take time and meet the Governor of Haryana and demand action in the matter and if the district administration does not take any concrete action, the party will also protest in Kurukshetra by making a future strategy. The Congress party is serious about this matter, Ashok Arora has been the Speaker of Haryana Assembly and Cabinet Minister. He has an important place in the politics of the state. He was talking to journalists at Ashok Arora’s establishment. On this occasion, MLA Ashok Arora, former MP Kailasho Saini, former MLA Meva Singh, former CPS Sultan Singh Jadaula, former Chairman of Improvement Trust Jalesh Sharma, Mayaram Chandrabhanpura and other senior leaders were present with him.
Congress state president Udaybhan said in strong words that the way BJP is trying to trample democracy will not be tolerated at all. When the Thanesar Municipal Council had already issued a letter that no one other than the councillors would come, then why were outsiders allowed to attend the meeting. Not only this, these people misbehaved and attacked MLA Ashok Arora. It is a matter of shame that such an incident is happening in the Chief Minister’s home district and even after a day has passed, no FIR has been registered by the administration against such goons who had nothing to do with the meeting and had come to the meeting only to commit hooliganism. The Chief Minister should have taken serious action in this matter. But nothing like this was done because the Bharatiya Janata Party is bent on killing democracy. The Congress Party is completely serious about the incident of attack on Ashok Arora and soon the party will take a big decision.
Udaybhan said that Ashok Arora is MLA from Thanesar Assembly constituency and represents 2.25 lakh people and Thanesar Nagar Parishad also comes in this constituency. In such a situation, the MLA is active about his duty. But the people of BJP are bent on hooliganism. Udaybhan questioned that when the MLAs of the opposition are not safe then what will happen to the common people? He warned that the DC SP of Kurukshetra should take this matter seriously. Udaybhan said that the goons of BJP have obstructed the government work by going to the House meeting unauthorizedly. The Executive Officer of the Nagar Parishad should have registered a case against them for obstructing the government duty, but the Executive Officer has not registered any case against these hooligan elements till now. Strongly condemning the ban on media coverage in the meeting, Udaybhan said that BJP has no faith in democracy and this decision is a matter of strangling the press. Congress is in favor of media freedom. On this occasion, Ashok Arora said that only councillors can attend the meeting of the Municipal Council. It is not right for anyone else to come as their representative. The country runs according to the Constitution and not according to emotions. Arora said that such an act was never seen before but now the BJP is working to give support to the goons it has nurtured.
