Breaking News: Major Maoist Arms Dump Unearthed in Malkangiri
Malkangiri, January 15: In a significant breakthrough, Malkangiri police unearthed a large-scale Maoist arms dump during a combing operation in the dense Jinelguda forest under the MV-79 police station limits.
The District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel discovered the hidden cache containing one Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), an SLR magazine, four chargers, and 50 rounds of SLR ammunition. In addition, Naxal clothing and propaganda pamphlets were seized from the site.
Speaking on the operation’s success, Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivekanand Sharma stated, “The Maoists had concealed these explosives and arms in the forest, intending to target security personnel. The timely detection of this dump has averted a potential threat.”
The discovery highlights the ongoing efforts of the police and security forces to neutralize Maoist activity in the region. Further investigation and intensified operations are underway to dismantle the network.
