In a significant move aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility under the newly implemented Ayushman Bharat scheme, Rayagada District Collector Mrs. Parul Patawari, IAS, paid an official visit to the renowned Christian Hospital, Bissamcuttack. This institution stands as the most trusted and widely accessed private healthcare institution in South Odisha, serving not only the people of Rayagada but also drawing patients from Kalahandi, Titlagarh, Balangir, Phulbani, Gajapati, and several other adjoining regions. With an average daily footfall of nearly there thousand, the hospital has become a lifeline for many, particularly those in remote and tribal regions.
Following the Odisha government’s transition from BSKY to the statewide Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Collector’s visit gains special importance. Her presence underlined the administration’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and widespread implementation of the Ayushman Bharat initiative.
During her visit, Mrs. Patawari engaged in detailed discussions with the hospital authorities, including Hospital Superintendent Dr. Sunil Jeevanmal, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Pragnya Jeevanmal, the Manager CHB Chandra Sekhar Ray, the Nursing Superintendent, and other senior staff. Key issues such as scheme outreach, technical bottlenecks, beneficiary registration, addressing public misconceptions, and maximizing patient inclusion were thoroughly deliberated. Sources indicate that the Collector expressed satisfaction over the hospital’s preparedness and collaborative approach. She emphasized the crucial role Christian Hospital plays in reaching underserved populations and affirmed that her administration will work closely with the institution to ensure that no eligible patient is left out of the scheme’s coverage.The hospital administration extended a warm welcome to Mrs. Patawari and appreciated her proactive engagement and commitment to healthcare. With this collaborative spirit, it is hoped that a significantly larger number of people in the region will now benefit from Ayushman Bharat, ensuring better access to quality medical care across southern Odisha.
