Dubai Launches Middle East’s Largest Autonomous Freight Network
Dubai has taken a bold step into the future of logistics by rolling out electric, fully autonomous trucks at Jebel Ali Port in collaboration with Swedish startup Einride.
These next-generation trucks are unlike anything on the roads—they’re cabin-free, powered entirely by AI, and capable of being remotely operated when necessary. In the initial rollout, they’re already managing around 1,600 container moves per day. By 2026, the system will expand dramatically to handle 2 million containers annually, cementing its status as the largest autonomous freight network in the Middle East.
Beyond efficiency, the project carries major environmental benefits. Once fully operational, it’s expected to slash 14,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, showcasing how cutting-edge technology can transform both logistics and sustainability on a massive scale.
