Governor inaugurates two day Seminar at Central University of Himachal Pradesh

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has emphasized the significance of studying and researching the ancient prosperous culture and heritage of Himachal Pradesh. This call to action came during his address at the inaugural function of a two-day national seminar organized by the History Department of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh and the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi.
Highlighting the unparalleled richness of cultural and historic religious sites in Himachal Pradesh, Governor Shukla stressed their pivotal role in preserving the historical legacy of the state. He urged for detailed studies and documentation of these sites to enlighten future generations about their rich historic and cultural diversity.
Dr. Balmukund Pandey, the Key speaker at the event, underscored the importance of making the proud history of the country accessible to the public, especially in light of the changing societal landscape.
Governor reiterated the importance of preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, ensuring that its legacy continues to inspire generations to come.
Vice Chancellor of the Central University, Professor Sat Prakash Bansal, expressed pride in the institution’s academic achievements, noting its recent attainment of autonomous status conferred by the Government of India as a testament to its pursuit of excellence.
Historian Professor Sushmita Pandey and other scholars shared their insights during the occasion, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. Additionally, the History Department’s newsletter, poetry books authored by Professor Sat Prakash Bansal and others were released on the occasion.
The event also witnessed the release of Dr. Priya’s poetry collection and “Navala,” a book showcasing the cultural essence of Himachal Pradesh authored by research scholar Bhagat Singh.
Dean of Studies Professor Pradeep Kumar, Registrar Professor Suman Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
