Superintendent of Police Kurukshetra Nitish Aggarwal has warned the general public about cyber crimes and said that in the digital age, technology is making our lives easier but cyber criminals are taking advantage of this technology and cheating people in different ways. Now a new trick of cheating by cyber thugs has come to light.
The Superintendent of Police said that a new trick of cheating has come to light by cyber thugs. Cyber thugs send some amount to your account. On receiving the message, the person immediately opens his UPI account to check his balance. Along with the money, the thug must have also sent a request for money transfer. As soon as the person enters his PIN to check the balance, the payment request will be automatically approved as soon as the PIN is entered and the payment will be made from his account. To avoid this scam, if payment comes from an unknown number in the account, do not check the balance for at least half an hour or enter the wrong PIN for the first time to check the balance. Entering the wrong PIN will cancel the payment request. It is important to be cautious to avoid cyber fraud.
The Superintendent of Police said that in case of any kind of financial or online fraud, register your complaint by calling the national helpline number 1930. Apart from this, you can lodge your complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station or the Cyber Help Desk established in your respective police station.
