Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora said that the deadly attack on him in the meeting of the Nagar Parishad House today is an attack on the democracy of the country and is a black day in the history of democracy. Ashok Arora was talking to journalists at his office on KDB Road. He informed that today he reached the meeting of the Nagar Panchayat House at the scheduled time of 3 pm to attend it. He saw that apart from the councillors, many outsiders belonging to the ruling party were also sitting in the House. As soon as the meeting started, he asked the Executive Officer of the Nagar Panchayat that according to the order issued by him on May 22, only councillors can sit in the meeting of the House.
Then why are outsiders sitting in this meeting. Before the Executive Officer could answer anything, some outsiders sitting there started abusing him and attacked him with a deadly weapon. Hearing the noise in the meeting hall, his security guard standing outside came inside and when the security guard tried to save him, these outsiders attacked the security guard as well and obstructed his duty. He alleged that the murderous attack on him was a part of a well-planned conspiracy. To prevent the media from showing the hooliganism of these unwanted elements, an order banning media coverage of the House was also issued by the Nagar Panchayat.
Arora said that the leaders who have been in power in the Nagar Parishad for the last 20 years do not want him to discuss their scams in the House meeting. For the last few days, he has raised the issues of corruption in the Nagar Panchayat. In two days, some contractors have exposed the corruption in the Nagar Parishad. The murderous attack on him was done only to suppress the issues of corruption in the Nagar Parishad for the last several years. He said that the information of this incident has been given to SP Kurukshetra and he will meet the Assembly Speaker, the Governor of Haryana and inform them about the entire incident and will meet the Chief Minister and demand action against those who committed this type of hooliganism.
Arora said that he has given the information of the entire incident to the state leadership of Congress. If the Kurukshetra Police does not take any legal action against those who attacked him within three days, then he will discuss with his colleagues and formulate the future strategy. He said that hooliganism will not be tolerated at any cost. He will not back down from raising the voice of the people of Thanesar constituency.
