Rayagada, February 18, 2025 – The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rayagada, organized a legal awareness camp on February 17 to educate migrant workers about their rights and government welfare schemes. The event, held at the District Labour Office, was chaired by Shri S.A.K. Jahira Ahmad, in consultation with District Judge and DLSA Chairperson Shri Satyanarayana Shadangi.
The camp was attended by notable dignitaries, including DLSA Secretary Mr. Subrata Acharya, Regional Labour Commissioner Mr. Subhas Chandra Mandal, District Labour Officer Mr. Rabindranath Tripathi, Additional Labour Officer, Rayagada Bar Association lawyer Debaraj Naik, and Print Office Retainer Bharati Tripathi. A significant number of migrant workers and local employees also participated.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Jahira Ahmad highlighted the importance of legal awareness and discussed the role of the Permanent and Continuous Lok Adalat in resolving disputes efficiently. The Regional Labour Commissioner and District Labour Officer provided insights into various government schemes designed to support migrant workers and urged them to take advantage of these benefits.
The speakers also emphasized the necessity of registering with the District Labour Office before seeking employment outside the region. This, they explained, would ensure workers receive legal protection and access to welfare programs. DLSA Secretary Mr. Subrata Acharya reassured the attendees that the authority remains dedicated to assisting workers in distress.
With the active participation of workers and direct supervision of Mr. Acharya, the camp successfully concluded, reaffirming the district’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of migrant laborers.
