Meeting of Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti Held at GMSH-16, Chandigarh
Chandigarh, 15th February 2025: A significant meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti took place today at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, Chandigarh. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Manish Tewari, and saw active participation from key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of various healthcare initiatives and discussing strategies for further improvement. A detailed action-taken report was presented, highlighting the achievements and challenges faced in implementing previous decisions. The discussions revolved improving patient care services, and ensuring efficient medical resource utilization. Key issues such as patient grievances, medical staff requirements, and the upgradation of medical facilities were also thoroughly deliberated upon.
During the meeting, Sh. Manish Tewari emphasized the need for greater transparency in budget spending. He urged officials to provide clear details on fund allocations and expenditures to ensure optimal utilization of resources for patient care and hospital improvements.
The meeting was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Mayor of Chandigarh, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Sh. Amit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Director of Health Services, Dr. Suman Singh, and Director Social Welfare, Smt. Palika Arora, Medical Superintendent-cum-Jt. PMO GMSH-16 Dr Sushil Kumar Mahi , Dy Medical Superintedent Dr.Parmjit Singh along with other distinguished members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti.
During the meeting, three newly nominated members were welcomed into the committee.
The meeting underscored the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards achieving excellence in healthcare services. Emphasis was laid on collaborative efforts between the administration and the medical fraternity to ensure the efficient functioning of hospitals under the Rogi Kalyan Samiti framework. It was unanimously decided to adopt a proactive approach in addressing healthcare challenges and implementing innovative solutions for the benefit of the public.
