Outreach and Registration Camp under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme by Department of Industries, UT Chandigarh, in collaboration with the NGO – Global Youth Federation (GYF)
The Department of Industries, UT Chandigarh, in collaboration with the NGO – Global Youth Federation (GYF) and support from various officials of Chandigarh Administration and nominated domain experts has successfully conducted outreach and registration camp under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme on March 17th, 2025, in Maloya, U.T. Chandigarh. The camp was organized with the objective of enhancing the scheme’s impact and encouraging broader community participation to further the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme across UT Chandigarh.
Through this initiative, the Department successfully registered a total of 100 artisans from diverse traditional trades, including garland makers, barber, doll and toy maker, potter, metal smith, sculptor, locksmith, stone-breaker, cobbler and goldsmith. Sh. Wazir Singh, Assistant Director of MSME DFO, Ludhiana, along with esteemed domain experts – Sh. Naresh Panchal, Sh. Munish Bhasin, and Sh. Satinder Sidhu; honoured the event with their presence. They actively participated in the camp, engaging with artisans and providing valuable insights to support and encourage their skill development and registration process. Officials from the Department of Industries, UT Chandigarh also actively participated in the camps, spreading awareness about the scheme at grass-root level. They informed the artisans about the benefits and registration process of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and addressed queries from the public to ensure a smooth registration process.

Such efforts aim to preserve traditional crafts and uplift artisans by integrating them into the formal economy.
