Plaud Enhances NotePin with Extended Audio Range and Real-Time Highlighting

Plaud has unveiled significant upgrades to its AI-powered, card-sized note-taking device, the Plaud NotePin. The latest version now features an expanded audio pickup range of up to 16.4 feet, thanks to the addition of two new microphones. This enhancement allows for clearer recordings in larger meeting spaces and more dynamic environments.

One of the standout features of the upgraded NotePin is the introduction of a “Press to Highlight” button. This allows users to tag important moments during recordings, enabling Plaud’s AI—powered by GPT, Claude, and Gemini models—to generate focused summaries. This functionality is particularly beneficial for professionals who need to capture and review key points efficiently.

The device also boasts an “endurance” mode, which extends battery life from 30 to 50 hours, albeit with a reduced audio range of 9.8 feet. Additionally, a new 1-inch screen displays battery status, recording mode, and other relevant information, providing users with real-time updates.

Plaud’s companion app, receiving an upgrade in October, will introduce multimodal inputs, enhanced insights, improved smart features, and a refreshed user interface. These updates aim to provide users with a more comprehensive and intuitive experience.

The Plaud NotePin is available for preorder at $179, with shipping scheduled to begin in October across the US, UK, and selected European regions. This price includes up to 300 monthly transcription minutes, with options to upgrade to premium transcription plans at $99.99/year for 1,200 minutes or $239.99/year for unlimited minutes.
