Revanth’s Hair is in Chandrababu’s Hands: Kavitha
Sakshi, Nizamabad: In a recent statement that has caused a stir in political circles, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha claimed that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s fate is completely under the control of Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Kavitha further elaborated that Chandrababu’s influence extends all the way to Prime Minister Modi, suggesting that the political dynamics in Telangana are far from independent.
Kavitha described Revanth Reddy’s tenure as a significant misfortune for the people of Telangana, referring to the current leadership as a ‘disgrace.’ During her visit to Nizamabad, she made strong remarks regarding the conditions of turmeric farmers and criticized the establishment of the Turmeric Board, labeling it a mere formality with no real substance.
Political Claims and Allegations
Kavitha did not hold back while speaking on various issues. “Even the Supreme Court’s reprimands have not changed Revanth. Perhaps another set of rebukes from the court might be necessary,” she stated, indicating her skepticism towards the current Chief Minister’s capability and accountability. She also mentioned the controversial water transfer from Andhra Pradesh, contending that it takes place only after meetings between Chandrababu and Revanth.
“Revanth Reddy’s hair is indeed in Chandrababu’s hands,” Kavitha reiterated, implying that the Chief Minister’s decisions and actions are heavily influenced by the former Chief Minister. Moreover, she pointed out that Chandrababu’s strings are being pulled not just in Telangana but also in Delhi, at the level of Prime Minister Modi.
Farmers’ Plight and the Turmeric Board
When addressing the challenges faced by turmeric farmers, she expressed deep concern, saying, “My heart aches seeing the plight of turmeric farmers. The price of turmeric is decreasing day by day.” Kavitha accused both the central and state governments of deceiving farmers by promising them a support price of ₹15,000, which has not materialized.
She also highlighted alleged collusion among traders to exploit farmers, stating, “They have formed a syndicate to cheat turmeric farmers.” In response to this exploitation, Kavitha announced a deadline of March 1st, demanding that if the price does not reach ₹15,000 per quintal, they will stage a protest at the Collectorate with the farmers.
Congress’s Promises and Future Actions
Expressing frustration over the ineffectiveness of the Turmeric Board, she insisted that it has been established merely for show and lacks any real benefit to farmers. “Justice for farmers will only be served when a bill is presented and passed in Parliament,” she argued.
Kavitha also reminded the public of Congress’s promise to provide ₹12,000 per quintal for turmeric, urging Congress leaders to fulfill their electoral promises. “If the price falls below ₹12,000, it should be compensated to farmers in the form of bonuses,” she concluded, signaling a potential escalation of the farmers’ struggle for fair pricing and support from the government.
