The highly anticipated film, ‘Lucifer 2: Empuran (Raju Kanna Gopavadu)’, is being helmed by the talented Prithviraj Sukumaran, featuring the legendary Malayalam star Mohanlal in the lead role. In a significant development, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s sister, Nikhat Khan Hegde, will be making her debut in Southern Indian cinema with this film, and she is set to take on a crucial character.
This marks a remarkable milestone for Nikhat, as ‘Lucifer 2’ will be her first acting role in the South Indian film industry. Recently, she shared her excitement through a video, discussing various aspects of the movie and hinting at her character’s depth and significance. She will portray the role of Subhadra Ben, which is expected to be pivotal to the storyline.
As a prequel to the 2019 political action thriller, ‘Lucifer’, this sequel has generated great expectations among fans and industry insiders alike. Nikhat Khan, hailing from a family deeply connected to Bollywood, enters this project after initially stepping into the film industry with ‘Mission Mangal’ in 2019. Prior to this, she gained popularity predominantly through various television commercials for major brands, including Axis Bank, Reliance Jewels, Haldiram’s, Wipro, and First Cry, which helped establish her presence in the public eye.
Despite her limited on-screen presence until now, Nikhat’s involvement in the production of Aamir Khan’s iconic film ‘Lagaan’ in 2001 further connects her to the cinematic world. The film ‘Lucifer 2: Empuran’ is being produced with a robust budget by Subhaskaran and Anthony Perumbavoor, under the banners of Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas. Apart from Mohanlal and Prithviraj, the film also features notable actors such as Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Nandu in key roles.
Fans can look forward to this cinematic experience when ‘Lucifer 2’ is set to release on March 27, 2025, in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. In the film, Mohanlal plays the character Kureshi Abram, while Prithviraj will take on the role of Jayad Masood, his right-hand man, promising an engaging narrative filled with gripping performances.
