The Enforcement Directorate had issued fresh summons to Moitra and Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani for questioning in a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) contravention case.

The 49-year-old Trinamool Congress leader was called for questioning twice earlier by the central agency, but she did not depose citing official work and sought deferment of the notice.

Moitra, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for “unethical conduct”, has been renominated by her party from West Bengal’s Krishnanagar seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had raided her premises in connection with the cash-for-query case on Saturday, days after anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal directed the federal agency to investigate the allegations levelled against her by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.

Moitra has denied any wrongdoing.

The contingent of the Himachal Pradesh National Law University was declared as the best overall contingent at the annual sports fest “Zelus-V” of Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala. The contingent of 60 students participated in various sports events including football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, throwball, athletics.

The contingent of HPNLU bagged the second runner up trophy amongst the different law universities all over the country under the contingent head Mr. Arpit Sharma. The players scored gold medals in six sporting events. Sidhant & Deepali scored gold medals in athletics, Ranveer in Shot-put, Chinmay and Anubhav in Chess. Suryabhan Guleria scored silver and bronze in various events of power-lifting and silver in Shot-put.

The “Zelus-V” Sports fest was held from 1^st March to 4^th March, 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi National Law University in Patiala. This is an annual event hosted by RGNUL and this year saw the fifth edition of the event.

The officiating Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Prof (Dr.) Chanchal Kumar Singh congratulated all the participants of the contingent on winning the medals. The students are filled with rejoice on their wins.
