Teachers’ Voice United Front (TVUF) Launches Manifesto for PUTA Elections 2025-26
Teachers’ Voice United Front (TVUF) has officially released its manifesto for the upcoming PUTA elections under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Ashok Kumar and Prof. Jayanti Dutta. The manifesto lays strong emphasis on clinching key issues pertaining to dignity as well as the welfare of teaching community without any compromise.
It promises to resolve the issues viz. the teachers’ retirement age and immediate disbursal of promotion benefits to dental faculty alongwith payment of arrears as per the law of the land to prevent unnecessary legal disputes. It also promises to fight for the payment of interest on the delayed payment of arrears. The manifesto advocates Old Pension Scheme for all PU employees at Punjab Government pattern. The issue of Ph.D. increments to the young faculty members will be resolved without delay. It also promises for unbiased CAS promotion mechanism with three windows every year. Time bond approval of counting of past service, execution of prescreening of CAS promotion cases by avoiding unnecessary objections are another issue of key priority in this manifesto. Concerns relating to Health & Well-being of teachers has given respectful place. It also includes concerns relating to programming staff, chairpersons support system and FRP faculty. Several issues pertaining to campus life, PU residents are included.
It also counts its achievement in the university as Good Citizen of India like not as silent spectator like others. The 200-days’ historical protest by TVUF members is the key achievement which made payment of arrears possible. The pressure of TVUF made possible the long-pending teacher flats unification. TVUF has awaken administration to start of repair work in campus houses after 10 years. It also counts as its key achievement for formation of committees on issues related to Ankur School after 50 years of neglect. Online portal for construction office for transparency has also came into existence under the pressure of consistent pressure by TVUF as the opposition.
In this manifesto, TVUF has pledged to work with integrity and collective spirit to strengthen teachers’ voice and to safeguard their rights within the university. The TVUF manifesto puts forward a clear vision for strengthening teachers’ rights and ensuring a fair, transparent, and inclusive university environment. TVUF reaffirms its commitment to work with integrity, inclusiveness, and collective spirit to safeguard teachers’ interests and enhance the university’s academic and cultural. TVUF is committed with the community that If voted in, the they will ensure full transparency by live-streaming all monthly PUTA Executive meetings.
In addition, TVUF has invited the other two contesting teams – led by Parveen Goel and Keshav Malhotra – to come forward for an open debate/open house on all issues they claim to have achieved or propose to achieve. TVUF has proposed to hold this debate on Friday on campus, with the exact venue to be announced shortly.
