The burning of Late Biju Patnaik’s statue in Patnagarh demonstrates the revenge politics of the current Govt. He was a builder of modern Odisha at Brahmapur block under Patnagarh police station in Balangir district on Tuesday. BJD Odisha strongly condemns it and the increasing lack of governance in the District.
The exact cause behind this act is yet to be known. On being informed, Patnagarh police reached the spot and managed to douse the blaze.
The fire, however, had already consumed the polythene sheet covering the statue. Police detained a ‘mentally disturbed’ person in connection with the case.
Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that strict action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
