The Outer Worlds 2 Wants You to Join the Space Police

Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming RPG, The Outer Worlds 2, is set to expand upon its predecessor’s universe by introducing players to the Earth Directorate—a faction that positions itself as the galaxy’s moral compass, combating corporate corruption and authoritarian regimes. In this sequel, players can step into the role of a lawbringer, a character archetype that embodies the Directorate’s ideals.

The game’s prologue features a satirical recruitment ad promoting the Directorate’s mission to “bring accountability to mega-corps and colonies-turned-dictatorships.” This tongue-in-cheek propaganda sets the tone for the game’s narrative, which blends dark humor with social commentary.

In The Outer Worlds 2, character customization plays a pivotal role. Players can choose from various backgrounds, such as Gambler, Roustabout, and Lawbringer, each offering unique dialogue options and gameplay benefits. The Lawbringer, for instance, is adept at persuading NPCs and navigating complex moral dilemmas, aligning with the Directorate’s mission to uphold justice.

The game promises a deeper RPG experience, with a narrative that encourages players to explore different playstyles—be it through combat, stealth, or dialogue. Obsidian aims to provide a more expansive universe, enriched with diverse factions, each with its own satirical tone and motivations.

Scheduled for release on October 29, 2025, The Outer Worlds 2 will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. For more information and updates, visit www.nationnews.in.
