Vidushi Deeksha V., a BEd student from Udupi, has etched her name in history by performing Bharatanatyam non-stop for an astonishing 216 hours—a nine-day marathon that shattered the previous record of 170 hours. Beginning on August 21 at 3:30 PM and concluding on August 30, her unwavering dedication and stamina earned her a place in the Golden Book of World Records.
Supported by Ratna Sanjeeva Kalamandala, Manipal, and guided by mentors like Shridhar Bannaje, Deeksha chose nine days for its spiritual significance and dedicated her performance to Dr G. Shankar Women’s College, honoring the institution for supporting her education.
Her monumental achievement was celebrated by dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who praised her discipline and the immense pride she brought to Udupi and Karnataka.
